makeup removal

Whether it's everyday makeup or layers upon layers of stage makeup, I used to never enjoy the process of taking it off. Over the years, I've experimented with a variety of drugstore classics, from Almay wipes to Ponds cream to Clearasil face wash. In my mind I'd think, 'I just need to get the job done', as I treated my skin roughly, rubbing wipes harder & harder around the crevices of my eyes & face. Sometimes, after all that work, I still wouldn't get all of my eye make up off! I'd leave the theater with clumps of pesky mascara & remnants of thick, black eye liner, hoping it would at least come off in the shower once I got home..

But now! All of my makeup removal woes are of a times past, for I discovered the beauty & power of Coconut Oil

I absolutely love using coconut oil to remove my makeup for a few reasons..

1. It's natural! When I'd use drugstore products, I always wondered, "What's in this stuff anyway?" With coconut oil, I get exactly what I bargain for. No ingredients I can't pronounce, no chemicals, no questions asked.

2. It's powerful! Once upon a time, I used a makeup remover wipe before leaving the theater. I came home, took a shower, and came out noticing I still had a bunch of makeup leftover. I reached for a little coconut oil, warmed it in the palms of my hands, and began spreading it on the leftover makeup. Once I began wiping off the excess with a cotton pad, I could not believe how much makeup I found! I thought I had removed the majority of my makeup with the wipe, but the coconut oil proved to work deeper into my skin, taking off layers of makeup that my eyes hadn't seen.

3. It's moisturizing! Rather than leaving my skin feeling dry & beat up like my old drugstore products would do, coconut oil leaves my skin feeling hydrated. Take note, a little bit of it goes a long way!  I confess, I have definitely experienced times where I've put way too much on my face & felt overwhelmingly oily. However, the more I've come to use coconut oil in my everyday skincare routine, the more I've come to know just how much I need. Better to start with too little & continue to rub on more, than too much & feel overwhelmed.

Speaking of moisture, there's one key addition to my skincare routine that makes the world of difference to me..

Young Living's Essential Beauty Serum

This bottle has lasted me 3 months & I've only reached the halfway point! Every morning, after I rinse my face with water, I'll use 3 drops of this oil mixed in with a daily moisturizer (my favorite right now is Pacifica linked below!) Some evenings, I'll even use a couple drops with a dab of coconut oil as well. When it all settles into my skin, I feel refreshed & moisturized. I love the smell, the ingredients, & Young Living's promise, that their products are 100% pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils. The main ingredients of this serum include

Cedrus Atlantica† (Cedarwood) Bark Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil

I have been a member of Young Living for over 2 years & have benefitted greatly from using a variety of oils in my everyday life. For me, The Essential Beauty Serum is exactly that, essential to my everyday skincare routine!
You do not have to become a member to try the product, it can be purchased at a retail value. However, I quickly fell in love with my Premium Starter Kit and found ways to incorporate all of the oils into my everyday life.
